Why VedicPersonality?
Modern psychology gives you MBTI 16 types; Vedic astrology offers 5,000 years of time-structure and emotional cartography. VedicPersonality lays them on top of each other so you see a self that's both scientifically recognized and shaped by classical wisdom.
What we believe
Western psychology (particularly MBTI / Big Five) excels at describing thinking style; Vedic astrology excels at describing emotional baseline and life-phase timing. Both work, but using them separately misses the crucial cross-section. Our goal: let anyone willing to spend 5 minutes get this combined perspective — without ads or unnecessary subscriptions.
Methodology
MBTI scoring
30 questions on a 7-point Likert scale measuring 4 dimensions (E-I / S-N / T-F / J-P). Questions calibrated against 100+ volunteer pre-tests, average completion 4 min 30 sec. This is not an officially licensed MBTI® product; we use "16 personality types" terminology rather than the registered trademark.
Vedic chart calculation
Sidereal positions calculated using Lahiri Ayanamsa (Indian government standard). Underlying engine: FreeAstrologyAPI (Swiss Ephemeris derivative). Lagna, Moon, Sun, and 9 main planet positions accurate to the arc-minute.
AI personalization
The full report is generated by Claude (Anthropic), but every section passes through fixed quality templates and human spot-check review. The AI doesn't fabricate freely — it interpolates your specific MBTI + chart combination into structured analysis frames grounded in Vedic source material.
Human review
The 192 MBTI × Moon-sign "combination sections" are human-written, reflecting traditional Vedic interpretation of each planet-sign pairing. We don't publish purely AI-generated astrology content.
Our limits (honestly)
- ⚠Astrology isn't a scientific law. MBTI and astrology are both descriptive tools, not prediction engines. Anything claiming 100% accuracy is overselling.
- ⚠Birth time error skews Lagna. If you're unsure of your birth time to the minute, treat the Lagna result as approximate.
- ⚠AI-generated content can miss the mark on rare combinations. If you find a description that significantly diverges from your real situation, email us — we'll review and adjust.
Our commitments

- ✓Your data is used only for calculation and your report. We don't sell to third parties or train ad lookalikes on it.

Our background
VedicPersonality was founded in 2026 by independent developer Yung-Wei Tang. Background combines 10+ years of software engineering, self-taught cognitive psychology, and several years of Vedic astrology practice trained under Indian teachers. We are not members of any astrology guild, but every published Vedic reading cross-references classical authors including BV Raman, KN Rao, and Sanjay Rath.
